Dear badminton friends,

On Monday, 31 August 2026 we officially start the new badminton season 2026-2027The board is very much looking forward to it and hopes to welcome many of you back on court. For me personally, this season is particularly special as it is my first season serving as Chairman of BC Terneuzen. Having enjoyed being a member of our club for more than four years, I am honoured to take on this role and contribute to the continued success and growth of our association.
 
Board Changes
There have been a few changes within the board. Michal Sprenkels has stepped down as Chairman and will take on the role of Treasurer. We are pleased that he will continue to contribute his experience and commitment to the club.
In addition, Edy Van Hoije has handed over his responsibilities as Treasurer but will remain an active board member. 

We thank Edy for his many years of dedicated service as Treasurer and are delighted that he will continue to support the club in the future.
 
Playing Times
Playing times remain unchanged:

• Monday: 18:00 - 22:00 (recreational players)
• Tuesday: 09:30 - 11:00 (recreational players)
• Wednesday: 09:00 - 10:30 (recreational players)
• Thursday: 20:00 - 21:30 (Free play - Randy is not available for training this season; alternative training options are being explored and will be communicated separately)
• Friday: 16:00 - 19:00 (youth players)

Membership Fees 2026-2027
During the Annual General Meeting, the membership fees for the 2026-2027 season were established as follows:

• Registration fee: € 2,50
• Senior membership: € 164,00
• Junior membership: € 107,00

We thank our members for their support, which enables us to continue organizing training sessions, competitions, tournaments, and other club activities throughout the season.

We are looking forward to another exciting season filled with activities, including:

• PEP tournaments
• Family tournaments
• Grand Prix tournament for youth players
• Zeeuws-Vlaams Championship
• League competitions
• Various club activities

Competition
Several teams will once again compete this season. We wish all players the best of luck and encourage everyone to come and support our teams. Having fellow club members cheering from the sidelines always makes matches even more enjoyable.

Rabo Clubsupport
BC Terneuzen will once again participate in Rabo ClubSupport this year.If you are a Rabobank member, please consider voting for BC Terneuzen and help support the future of our club. We will share more information about the voting period soon via our website, Instagram and Facebook page.

Photos and/or name on Our Website and Social Media
During training sessions, matches and club events, we regularly take photographs to capture and share memorable moments from our club through our website and social media channels.
If you object to photos being published in which you or your child can be clearly identified, please let us know by sending an email to email@bcterneuzen.nl. We will, of course, take your preferences into account. email@bcterneuzen.nl. Uiteraard zullen wij hier zorgvuldig rekening mee houden.

Together We Build Our Club
Our club thrives because of the enthusiasm and involvement of its members and volunteers. If you have ideas, suggestions, or would like to help with events and activities, please let us know. Together we can continue to strengthen BC Terneuzen and ensure that everyone feels welcome.
The board is excited for the new season and looks forward to seeing you on the court, at tournaments and during club activities throughout the year.

Additional events, such as Grand Prix tournaments and senior tournaments hosted by other clubs, will be added to the schedule as soon as the dates become available. These additions will also be announced on our social media channels.

Are you a junior league player and would you enjoy helping out with our training sessions on Fridays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (or until 6:00 pm)? If so, let Myra know (or send us a DM on social media). Your main role will be to help teach basic tennis skills to our new junior members.

I moved to the Netherlands around 15 years ago and have been working at Dow since then. Over the years, I have developed strong connections within the community, but my journey with badminton began more recently. After the COVID period, I was introduced to the sport through a family tournament with my daughter—and since that moment, I have truly fallen in love with the game.
For the past four years, I have been an active member of the club, regularly participating in activities and enjoying the welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community. BC Terneuzen has become an important part of my personal and social life.

I bring a structured and collaborative leadership style from my professional experience, and I am motivated to help the club grow further, strengthen member engagement, and ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all. At the same time, I see this role as a valuable opportunity for me to further improve my Dutch language skills and integrate even more into the local community. I am aware that I may need support from fellow committee members in the initial phase, and I sincerely appreciate that collaboration will be key to success. With that support, I am confident that I will quickly grow into the role and contribute effectively.

I look forward to a sporting and enjoyable collaboration with all members of BC Terneuzen.

Youth Team 3 became champions of the D2 Division 9 league competition. Congratulations to Julian, Kian, Ruben, Ruben, and Sem on this fantastic achievement!

On May 29, the season came to an end for all youth players. The 52 junior members who attended played many different matches and games. It was a very enjoyable event, and everyone played extremely well.

On May 30, the season came to a close for the senior players. A total of 36 players took part in this end-of-season tournament. As with the youth event, many enjoyable and sporting matches were played. Unfortunately, this marks the end of the 2025–2026 season. We look forward to seeing everyone again in September!

During the ALV, Adriaan and Karel were appointed honorary members in recognition of their many years of dedication to BC Terneuzen. They received a certificate from the chairman.

Today was the final PEP youth tournament. There were 23 enthusiastic participants. It was a sporty and enjoyable morning.
